Who we are (in no particular order):
Peter Phelps
Peter Phelps spent twelve years in funds management and investment banking, including four years in the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a major shareholder and financial director of the UK’s leading publishing marketing company, Subscriptions Marketing. He has been actively involved in forest restoration projects in both the UK and Australia since 1997 and is a founder of Earth Restoration Service. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).
Andreas Kornevall
Andreas Kornevall is Founder of WorkingAbroad (1997), an international service linking volunteers with local NGO’s in over 150 countries. He also founded the School Tree Nursery initiative in the UK and is currently the Director of Operations for the Earth Restoration Service. A graduate in Public Relations and Communications (BPR) from Geneva, Switzerland, he has spent the past ten years working with innovative grassroots programmes in the ecological, cultural and social sectors, collaborating in countries such as India, USA, Dutch Antilles, Ecuador, Swaziland, Iceland, the Gambia etc. A member of the British Permaculture Association and a recording artist.
Alan Watson Featherstone
Alan Watson Featherstone, is founder and Executive Director of the award winning Scottish Charity, Trees for Life. He has been a member of the Findhorn Foundation Community since 1978 and is a frequent speaker at international conferences where he addresses environmental issues. He was co-convenor of the international environmental conference held under the auspices of UNEP and UNESCO in April 2002.
Howard Colvin
Originally from Belfast, Howard worked for a number of years as a band manager in the music industry. In 1993, he switched his attention to the fledgling alternative investment arena, setting up a joint venture with Rudolf Wolff Fund Management. In 2000, Howard set up Hedge Fund Marketing with his fellow trustee Peter Phelps, having previously founded Subscriptions Marketing, the UK’s largest subscription agency and owner of LetsSubscribe.com. Howard has been actively involved in supporting ERS since its inception, and became a trustee in 2007, being instrumental in the launch of its Forest of Fame initiative.
Dermot O’Gorman
Dermot joined WWF in May 1998. During this time he has worked as the Deputy Director, Asia Pacific Programme for WWF International in Switzerland, was the Regional Representative of WWF South Pacific Programme for 3 years, based in Fiji and as the Head of Government and Aid Agency relationships at WWF-UK in London. He currently is the Country Representative of WWF China, based in Beijing. Prior to joining WWF, Dermot worked with Government Environmental Agencies in Australia and England. including the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the England Countryside Commission. He has two degrees in Environmental Conservation and a masters in Environmental Policy and Assessment from the London School of Economics.
Trudi Selleck
Trudi began educating people about the environment by verbally abusing a fisherman at the age of 2. Some years later, she worked with a group of NGO’s including Greenpeace, MSF and the Total Environment Centre. She has spent the last 5 years educating children through theatre, entertaining over 35,000 students. Her work has taken her all over Australia and New Zealand and as the Education Programme Co-ordinator for Matilda Cruises, she designed over 10 different programmes around Sydney Harbour, including Water Science and conservation – and she has stopped abusing fishermen! Trudi also assisted with implementing the School Tree Nursery programme in various locations throughout the UK.
David Vigar
David Vigar is a writer and communications consultant with wide experience of business, politics and the media. Formerly an award-winning BBC producer and communications director for the European Movement, he now works for a wide variety of clients, handling speeches, reports and publicity. He has written extensively on climate change and other environmental topics.
