Volunteer Restoration Programmes
Locally
Within your local community, you can restore habitats or wetlands as a volunteer. Examples include:
- tree planting
- helping to plant a native woodland in your community
- cleaning up a local river/wetland
- cleaning up a local park
- cleaning up a local beach
- working to improve local habitats for wildlife

Africa & the Middle East
African Impact - Zimbabwe - Working with volunteers and ecologists to continue data capture, working in conjunction with the WWF to secure land in other African regions for the release programme and protected areas to release lions back into the wild. www.africanimpact.com

RIPPLE Africa -Malawi is a poor country and 80% of the people live in rural areas. Wood is a necessary part of everyday life. The present way of life is not sustainable. Wood has always been treated as a free resource and vast areas of woodland have been cleared carelessly without any replanting for future generations. Latin America & the Caribbean
ARCAS, Guatemala - ARCAS is working with the Guatemalan government’s National Council of Protected Areas to establish a 3500 hectare protected area centered on the mangrove lakes and wetlands of the area. www.arcasguatemala.com

Cloudforest Conservation Programme, Ecuador - conservation and reforestation of the cloudforest in Ecuador. An average of 200.000 hectares of the Ecuadorian forest disappear every year.
